Have you ever seeeeen the rain?

I have.  Pretty much nonstop for 3 days now.  It is not very assuring.  We probably won’t be planting on Saturday.  Instead we might have the wet-dry vac outside trying to salvage anything that hasn’t drowned.  This past Sunday we went to a couple of greenhouses to stock up on some more plant life.  We purchased what seemed like a few thousand tomato’s, jalapenos, bell peppers, some watermelon, zucchini, and summer squash.  Also for fun we invested in the long term crops of a concord grapevine, a blueberry and a raspberry plant.  Possibly for some wine, but probably not this year.  On Tuesday, we decided to drop 36 tomato’s into the ground.  We put down a dozen Roma’s for all or our sauces and salsas.  Probably make some ketchup out of them also.  Some mortgage lifters, yellow brandywine, yellow pear, and orange tomato’s also made their way into the ground.  An old hippie once told us that tomato’s should be planted on a cloudy day.  So we followed his instructions and and did just that.  Thing is those clouds have brought enough rain to last the entire month and we are only on the eighth day.  Maybe I am just being a little paranoid, but it is a little scary to watch your hard work possibly wash down the drain.
